to put it bluntly, this puerto rico trip to paradise started off more than a little rocky. upon arrival to the airport at 4:30am {insert my sleepy face here, def not prepared to deal with any obstacles, unless breakfast was included} we waited for the usair counter to open. {??} perhaps i am just not an early flier, but i was under the impression that if you had a flight leaving early, the desk would be open to check you in... no? no. ok. now that we've got that squared away. they then proceeded to tell us we must "scan our passports." let me assure you... extensive research had gone into weather we needed these crucial mini documents and the consensus was "no." after i contemplated how we'd get home + how his sister would feel about us missing the biggest day of her life – a breakthrough. we were, indeed, correct. {sigh of relief}
after all the runaround with the airlines, our second flight was surprisingly amazing. the bf upgraded us to first class + surprised me with shiny golden tickets for flight number two. {ok no, not shiny or golden but i felt like charlie in willy wonka.}
best decision ever. and breakfast was indeed attached.
things are now going pretty well. feeling relaxed and refreshed from our run in with the elite travelers of america. arrive in san juan. yes! what's next?
this. tiny. tiny. plane.
it had ten seats + after recording our weight, we were assigned locations accordingly. {what happens if the 300 lb man in the back sneezes?} once air bound, i found it a bit adventurous. like riding a lawnmower in the sky, if you will.
we soon forgot all about the chaos of the wee hours of the morning when we stepped foot inside the resort's gate.
more to come...
