how cool and original is this wedding band? in a dark room, light from a candle or led passes through the ring to project a series of photos. the photos are inserted into the edge of the ring for projection. the ring was inspired by 19th century standhopes .

tomorrow morning {bright + early at 7am} i will be listening to a few speakers representing their organizations which made the 2009 fortune 100 best companies to work for.

{i will overlook the fact that the statement ends with a preposition... ahem...}

the speaker i'm most excited to hear?

southern ohio medical center — known to locals as somc .

gracing the list at #68, the 2,188 employee medical center beat out key players like:

nordstrom, ebay + fedex.

and shares the top 100 with companies such as: dreamworks, starbucks, google + zappos.

pretty impressive + exciting. especially because it is in my hometown of portsmouth, ohio.

this is the beautifully remodeled entrance to a truly amazing place.

stepping inside, you realize... this isn't an ordinary medical center.

it's full of friendly and caring individuals ready to make you feel right at home.

i've been so busy this week — i've finally found time to write today.

after days of rain and cloudy skies, today was the perfect fall day. naturally i sipped some apple cider and took a long 10 mile run with the crisp autumn breeze.

now i can't wait to wear the scarves, boots and layers that go along with the season.

it's a rare occasion if i can get through a load of laundry without losing a sock to that deep dark place where socks go when they escape from the dryer. so... now there's something to do with all those sad little loners. make a cute vase! i think argyle patterns look the best. plus, it's nearly autumn + time to break out the prepster style!

this one is on my "to read" list.

it is true. a career as an advertising creative revolves around rejection. having your idea rejected by your partners, your cd's, your acd's, your co-workers, your clients... your mom. this book is all about those humorous stories in which creatives recall their own moments of rejection.

funny how our successes aren't determined by actual victories... but more by how we handle our rejections
.

it is one of the most closely related website/television spot i have seen. 

which makes me wonder, which concept came first? the site intro or the spot?

ode to the pumpkin spice latte...

o pumpkin spice latte, how i love thee,

you taste like fall {and not at all like a tree.}

i can smell the crisp dry leaves,

i can taste the seasonal spice.

when the frothy brew hits my tongue,

i think ah, now that's quite nice.

it marks the start of autumn,

and a football season in every town.

less we not forget the much awaited,

it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown!

although i get no whip - you're still the only one for me.

love letters is a public art project by stephen powers with the city of philadelphia mural arts program. forty local artists have painted the walls {visible by train} in philly this august with love letters like these. i hear a documentary is in the works. such an awesome idea. if i saw one of these every day, i know it would make me smile! :)
